745 thousand 500 tons of cow milk was collected by icari dairies in January
The amount of milk collected in January decreased by 0.7% compared to the same month of the previous year.
In January, drinking milk production by commercial dairy enterprises was 146 thousand 110 tons and increased by 8.9% compared to the same month of the previous year. Cow cheese production increased by 53% to 573 tons, up 5.1% compared to the same month of the previous year. Sheep, goat, buffalo and mixed milk obtained from cheese varieties decreased by 29.5% with 323 tons compared to the same month of the previous year.
Yoghurt production decreased by 0.2% compared to the same month of the previous year with 89,383 tons. Buttermilk production increased by 47 thousand 266 tons and increased by 5% compared to the same month of the previous year.
The average milk content of cow milk collected by commercial dairies in January was 3.5% and the protein content was 3.3%.

Seasonally and calendar adjusted amount of collected cow's milk decreased 2.2% in January when compared to the previous month. The amount of calf-adjusted cow's milk decreased by 1.1% in January compared to the same month of the previous year.
